Reflection on Reagan the Intellectual

A TRUE INTELLECTUAL CONVEYS TO THE PUBLIC NEW IDEAS on a wide range of subjects, unearthing these notions long before most people do. That is the essence of Nobel laure­ate Friedrich von Hayek’s definition of an intellectual. In his 1949 University of Chicago Law Review essay “The Intellectuals and Socialism,” Hayek also underlined that for better or worse, intellectuals are more important than most people think. After all, they shape public opinion.

A Depressing Haircut

My barber is conveniently located just across the road from my house and, believing that a hair cut is a hair cut whatever the trappings of the  establishment, I am happy to opt for convenience

MY MONTHLY TRIPS ACROSS THE ROAD OFTEN serve as an opportunity to catch up on the neighborhood gossip. So it was a pleasure to find just leaving the chair the local motorcycle repair shop operator.

Britain Become the Great Industrial Country

Britain in the middle of the eighteenth century, requisite conditions were in evidence for making that nation the first great industrial country, “the workshop of the world.” Already enjoying a vigorous commercial economy, Britain experienced a tremendous population growth and increasing trade at home and abroad.

Declaration of Independence

On July 4, 1776, a conclave of insurgent colonists in America passed the Declaration of Independence. War against the British had already been going on for over a year, so the Declaration came as the culmination of years of tempestuous events in America.

Christopher Columbus inventor Indian tribe

When Christopher Columbus landed on America’s shores, he encountered copper-skinned people whom he promptly called “Indians“. Mistaken in his geography, he believed he had reached India. Current estimates indicate that there were over a million Indians inhabiting North America then. There are approximately 800,000 Indians today, of whom about 250,000 live on reservations.

War broke out between the French and the Viet Minh

On September 2, 1945, the Communist Viet Minh party took over Vietnam and declared the country autonomous. The French, however, backed by the British, returned to Vietnam and forced the Viet Minh to attend the Fountainebleau Conference in 1946. Ho Chi Minh, the Viet Minh leader, was inflexible in his demands for unification of his country. The French had divided it into three parts: Cochin China in the south, Tonkin in the middle, and Annam in the north. A French decree making Cochin China a separate republic closed the door on any possible negotiations at the conference. War broke out between the French and the Viet Minh.

Immanuel Church 1910

Formerly called  Willems Kerk, this beautiful church with a domed roof was built  in honor of King Willem I of the Netherlands. He was renowned for his numerous efforts to unite the various denominations of Christianity  under one crown. The organ that is still being played today dates back to 1843, while the Bible was printed in 1748. The church’s name was changed to Immanuel (God will be with us) in 1948.

Russian women are sizzling hot

There is still much discussion that Russian women are sizzling hot. And such talk is too difficult to miss out on. You’ve probably heard exactly, and this fact is true. There is no woman in the world that can equal hot Russian bride when it comes to performance unromantic. In turn, they expect eternal love from their men.

Russia, of course, the state in the world when it comes to size, but not very strong economy. Most Russians still below the poverty belt, and it is natural that the Russian woman who wants to marry a foreign people, just to avoid this condition. They are ready to become hot Russian bride, only to withdraw the low life they are trapped inside

Live in Romania has become easier

If you are among those who still tend to think that living in Romania must be difficult at the moment, it’s actually kind of thinking could not be further from reality. Because the reality of  life in Romania has become easier in recent years. All the trials that passed the state during the decades of communist rule have been taking their victims, they will conclude. Also, try the steps in accordance with the developed countries would result in cruel struggle for survival.

Nation and History of Romania

The finest method to understand the people of a nation is to find out how the nation’s history. The history of Romania is the history of the events that took place from old times, i.e. the third century B.C. to the present day, when the contemporary nation state of Romania that you see on the map evolved after going through many turmoils, and its boundaries got redrawn a number of times. It’s as well the history of its people, the very people, who gave Romania national identity and distinct cultural flavor.
